Minors Policy

For purposes of this practice, a minor is defines as any individual under the age of 18. BR Wellness accepts appointments for massage and stretch services for minors, beginning at age 13.  Depending on the age of the child and their level of activity, we will work together to customize a session to fit their current needs, while considering their growth and maturation.

The minor will remain professionally draped at all times. Only the area being worked will be uncovered. They may dress to their comfort level for stretch and keep undergarments on during their massage sessions. At BR Wellness, clothing is considered an unspoken boundary and no massage will be performed underneath clothing.

The minor has 100% control over their massage session- they have the absolute right to stop the massage or stretch or ask for a change in pressure or technique at any time, regardless of parental consent. The therapist reserves the right to end a massage session if they feel the minor is uncomfortable, in pain, non-responsive or the treatment is not appropriate. There will be no refund of any kind for appointments if they are terminated.

To prepare for their appointment, remember to empower the minor to speak up during their appointment. Remind them that the more information they can provide their therapist, the more effective their service will be. It is also suggested to increase water intake for 24 hours before their appointment and 24 hours after.

A parent or legal guardian must be present inside the home or office for the entire duration of the minor’s appointment.
